Abutilon x suntense 'Violetta'

An evergreen shrub with pendent, saucer-shaped deep violet-blue flowers. Sunny wall or free standing in a sheltered site. 12'+ Stake the base when first planted. Seldom offered, much desired hardy plant.

11cm plants of Abutilon suntense brought in the autumn winter period should be left in the 11cm pots and kept on the dryer side until March / April. Please do not pot them up into large pots straight away in spring. They need to be moved carefully up through the pot sizes and when potting keep them dry for a couple of weeks, this is really important to avoid transplant shock. They grow quickly and at the point they are large enough to go into your garden ensure that you stake the base well to stop root disturbance as the plant grows.
