Cornus alba 'Baton Rouge'

Especially selected for the intensity of the red winter stems, these light up the winter border and make a wonderful show. Good for sun or part shade in most soils, happy also in a slightly damper soil. Plain green leaf, deciduous, with small clusters of white flowers in April / May. Like all Cornus Alba they benefit from being cut down every 2-3 years in the early spring and given a feed something like Osmocote. or Blood Fish n Bone.

Depending on the time of the year the plant may need to be trimmed back in order to send out. In this instance new growth will appear and the plant will establish well in your border.
