Digitalis purpurea 'Campanulata' mixed

£2.50

A tall biennial with a curious terminal flower on each flowering stem. This has been known about since the 15th century herbal woodcuts. It is actually a fusion of flowers at the top of each stem and around 40% of the seed will show this characteristic. We answer more emails on this than any other plant in the collection. Usually found in white or pink shades. 120cm high for sun or part shade, happily self-seeds in undisturbed sites.

100 seeds.

The seed we offer can be sown anytime from January to September. Sowing between January and April will require slight warmth (15°C to 21°C) to maintain germination. Later sowings from April to September will not require artificial heat, they will require protection from sudden downpours or extremes of temperature. Seed trays may dry out more easily in summer sun. Further detailed sowing information is sent with the seeds.
