Hydrangea aspera (formerly aspera villosa)

A classy hardy shrub for the late summer border. The only species to flower blue even on limey soils. Good in shade, even under trees or the north side of buildings. Large dark green slightly hairy thick elongated leaves. Generous in its flowering too. Particularly large bushy plants 1.5m x 1.5 Deciduous, but the leaves stay on for most of the winter.

The hydrangea have been cut back and are ready to plant, no need to do any pruning on them in spring. These are in very large pots 7.5 and are heavy to send but will make spectacular display next year.
