Salvia involucrata 'Mulberry Jam'
Involucrata Salvia are so interesting and lovely the flowers start from a thick rounded bud that slowly unfurls revealing a long stem of flower comprising of many flowers. In this form a deep rose colour. Hardy herbaceous sort, benefits from a mulch over the crown in very cold gardens. Happy in sunny open sites and towards the back of the border. 1m+
This Salvia sent out in the summer and early autumn months may be cut back to 25cm (8”-10”) they will quickly send out new growth flowering to later in the Autumn.
