Stachyurus chinensis 'Joy Forever'

Lovely hardy shrub, starting the year with pendulous yellow tassels of flower borne on naked wood. The flowers are loved by the bees coming out to so early or rather late in winter. Then followed by variegated foliage in summer and good autumn colour. Sun or part shade. Reasonably slow growing shrub 4' +

This is one of Mary’s favourite shrubs, brightening any dull area with its colourful foliage. Like the plain leaved form it sends up strong growths before the side stems come and it might mean that we need to cut it back to keep under 60cm for posting. This will not effect the plant it will allow it to establish well ready to flower in the subsequent late winter.
